James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory is launching into the 21st century with the same commitment to serving families that began with the founder, James H. Davis Sr., nearly 100 years ago in a downtown livery stable.

Third-and fourth-generation owners Dawson Davis and Billy Boyle grew up in the family business, working there for many years after graduating as licensed funeral directors and embalmers. Davis and Boyle have been at the helm since 1995 after acquiring the funeral home from Davis’ father, James H. Davis Jr., and Boyle’s grandmother, Juanita Davis Boyle who together operated the firm for more than five decades.

James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory is located at 3009 Frederica Street, just across the street from Kentucky Wesleyan College. The facility was the first designed specifically for visitation and funeral services. It is all on one level making it completely handicap accessible.
